       Below photograph is straight from cellphone camera without editing.
Colors are spot on as they look in day light, contrast too is much more better than many DSLRs at thier default settings. This is what I want from a digital camera. Surprisingly many big costly digital cameras fail to diliver this level of accuracy at default settings.

Below is the image of my many many years old cellphone cropped from the above photograph at 100% magnification. The tiny image sensor did it's best, noise and artifacts are not a problem cos rarely any one makes print large as this. At this magnification you can make 3 foot wide print from the full resulation original image.

It's disinfectants bottle's image cropped at 100% magnification if seen on calibrated PC screen. The printing grains on the label are clearly visible. On your PC these letters and digits are almost 6-7 bigger than the original print on bottle.

6,8 or 12 or so and so mega pixels doesn't make sense if signals coming from them is not processed properly , it did it's best in this field with it's secret algorithm and here it's second to none. It's just the right size, fits in hands and pockets. Though it's a generation old but is the best touch device I mean you touch an icon and it pops without hesitation, swiftly swaps through pages unlike inferior copy cats in the market- last week I tried a Sam..g Galx.. series touch device which disappointed on every front be it's camera, color accuracy, touch response, speed..

 Many other far East electronic giants too have tried to copy it's design and color to make their inferior product look like it but failed to deliver unmatched performance.

Which is this phone? It's easy to guess with clues given above.

Part time job sucks - Wake up USA

Part time jobs during early school help students meet expences reducing burden on parents. It has long term negative impact on over all economy and society at large. If students earn at early they think that they can live and earn without higher education. It is not popular here in India because here such low paid jobs are filled by lower section of society, Indian middle class parents who are the largest highly educated class/group in India never would like to see their children working part time for a low profile job such as in a restaurent,a meason, home delivery, courier delivery, billing at counter etc which doesn't require specialized skill. Imagine an Indian officer's or middle class family's son/daughter studying to become scientist/officer/professors and doing such part time work in India - impossible. 

The US economy is confronting ill effect of part time job culture. Today there are hundreds of thousands of vascant position in USA but hardly skilled applicants. It is more difficult to fill a vacancy which reouire manufacturing skills, science, mathmetics, computers.

American colleges are producing fewer math and science graduates as students favor social sciences, whose workload is perceived to be manageable, leading to a skills mismatch.

Math, engineering, technology and computer science students accounted for about 11.1 percent of college graduates in 1980, according to government data. That share dropped to about 8.9 percent in 2009.

Unemployment in manufacturing is at 8.4 percent, below the overall rate of 9.1 percent. According to the Labor Department's latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover survey, there were 240,000 open jobs in manufacturing in August up 38.7 percent from a year ago.

Siemens Corp., the U.S. arm of Germany's Siemens AG (SI.N), has over 3,000 jobs open all over the country. More than half require science, technology, engineering and math-related skills.

A survey by ManpowerGroup found that a record 52 percent of U.S. employers have difficulty filling critical positions within their organizations -- up from 14 percent in 2010.

ATS which counts manufacturing behemoths Caterpillar and Motorola among its clients, has at any given time about 200 open positions which can take 90 to a hundred days to fill them.

Contour Precision, based in Clover, South Carolina, does contract work for the energy and aerospace industries. It is currently looking for six technicians. It has had positions open since last year.

It's better to have short term difficulty rather long term everlasting damage. Wake up USA.

Film versus Digital - Sharpness, shadow & highlight detail

Moon rise on a busy cross road.
Detail and sharpness in highlight area is clearly visible at higher magnification, though it is low resolution scan from 35mm Fuji ISO 100 print film. It was scanned at only 1800x1200 resolution which equates only 2.1 megapixel image from a digital camera. The highlight in the digital capture burns/washes the detail while film holds it. Grains are unusually more visible in this frame because of poor developing and processing of film roll from my neighboring lab, even mishandling at lab has scratched and marked with pinhole on the film. It is not the drawback of film but the poor work from lab to blame. In India mot of the labs are too poor on quality and consistency. This is the reason most people here think that film is inferior than digital. Remember for the bad food we can't blame the ingredients, it is the unskilled chef in the kitchen who can't process all the ingredients in to a tasty dish.
The quality of detail and sharpness in highlight area here marked with two little circles in the magnified rectangle; would have bumped up if used with 28mm fix focal length lens. It was shot with 28-100 normal zoom at 28mm. No photo editing software used, straight from film scan file. Film is always superior, it rules. I shot it on 35 mm which is the smallest format used by amateurs, the possibilities are endless with medium format, 4x5, 8x10 sheet film.

1. Automatic film rewind at the end of film roll (page 29)

Options: 0: Activated (initial setting)

1: Disabled

At initial setting, film rewind is automatically started when the end of the film

roll is reached. However, the camera can be set not to rewind film at the end

of the film roll but instead film rewind is started by pressing the two film

rewind buttons „for more than 1 sec.

2. Reset to DX film speed setting for new film (page 36)

Options: 0: Activated (initial setting)

1: Disabled

At initial setting, film speed automatically sets to s when a new film roll is

loaded even after manually setting film speed to other than s. However, the

film speed setting can be changed to remain the same.

3. Bracketing order (page 62)

Options: 0: Metered value, under, over (initial setting)

1: Under, metered value, over

Bracketing is normally performed in the order of the initial setting (page 62).

However, this Bracketing order can be changed to be performed from

negative compensation to positive compensation.

4. On-Demand Grid Lines superimposition display (page 5)

Options: 0: Not displayed (initial setting)

1: Displayed

At initial setting, On-Demand Grid Lines (page 5) are not displayed in the

viewfinder. However, they can be set to be displayed.

• When the desired option number is displayed in the LCD panel, c

appears in the LCD panel. Rotate the exposure mode/Custom Setting

select dial to set desired exposure mode and picture can be taken with

desired settings.

• The shutter cannot be released when the exposure mode/Custom Setting

select dial is set to ・. Set the dial to the desired exposure mode before

shooting.

•Cancelling Custom Setting

Set the exposure mode/Custom Setting select dial to

・and perform Two-Button Reset (page 76).

• All the Custom Settings are cancelled and reset to their initial factory settings.

• Each Custom Setting can be cancelled and reset to initial setting by selecting

the number of “initial setting” (e.g. 0 with Custom Setting menu number 1) at

5. Illumination for superimposition (page 4)

Options: 0: Automatically illuminated for low light (initial setting)

At initial setting, selected focus area (focus brackets) in the viewfinder are

temporarily illuminated in red depending on the subject brightness for easy

identification. However, they can be set not to be illuminated or always

illuminated no matter the subject brightness.

6. Focus area selection (page 42)

Options: 0: Normal selection (initial setting)

1: Enables successive rotation of focus area selection

At initial setting, the focus area can be selected by pressing the focus area

selector in the desired direction. However, it can be set to be changed

continuously in the same direction. For example, when the top of the focus

area selector is pressed, focus area continues to change from top, bottom,

middle and so on. With this option, focus area can be switched to the opposite

position without pressing the opposite position on the focus area selector.

7. Auto Exposure Lock when shutter release button is lightly pressed

(page 58)

Options: 0: Disabled (initial setting)

1: Activated

At initial setting, Auto Exposure Lock can be performed by pressing the ‚

button. However, Auto Exposure can be set to be locked by lightly pressing

the shutter release button.

8. Auto film loading when camera back is closed (page 21)

Options: 0: Enabled (initial setting)

1: Disabled

At initial setting, film advances to the first frame when the camera back is

closed after it is loaded. However, film advance can be set not to start until

the camera back is closed and the shutter release button is fully depressed.

At initial setting, Dynamic AF Mode with Closest Subject Priority (page 40) is

At initial setting, Auto Exposure and autofocus are locked simultaneously

when the ‚button is pressed. However, it can be set to be locked

separately or exposure remains locked after removing your finger from the

button and released when the ‚button is pressed again or picture is taken.

Also at initial setting, autofocusing starts when the shutter release button is

lightly pressed, but it can be set to activate when the ‚button is pressed.

(In this setting, pressing the shutter release button lightly does not start

autofocusing.)

At initial setting, the shutter is released 10 sec. after the shutter release

button is fully depressed in self-timer operation. However, this can be

changed to 2, 5, or 20 sec.

17.LCD illuminates by pressing any function button (page 66)

Options 0: Disabled (initial setting)

1: Activated

At initial setting, pressing the OEbutton activates the LCD illuminator.

However, it can be set to be activated with a press of any button.

18.AF-Assist Illuminator activation (page 43)

Options 0: Activated (initial setting)

1: Disabled

When the condition for the AF-Assist Illumination is met (page 43) and the

shutter release button is pressed lightly, the AF-Assist Illuminator of the

camera automatically turns on and enables autofocus operation in a dark

environment. However, it can be changed not to turn on (autofocus may

become impossible).

19.ISO film speed setting for data imprint between frames (F80S only,

page 94)

Options 0: Automatically (initial setting) 3: ISO 100

1: Under ISO 25 4: ISO 125-200

2: ISO 32-80 5: Over ISO 250

At initial setting, the F80S automatically sets the film speed of the loaded

film when imprinting shooting data between film frames. However, it can be

changed to be set manually. Note that Custom Setting Menu 19 can only be

selected when the shooting data imprint between film frames is set on the

camera.

• Set the Custom Setting option to 0 (automatic setting) or at an option of

the ISO value of the film in use to imprint shooting data at regular exposure

level.

To increase the imprint exposure level, select an option number of lower

ISO number than the film in use. To decrease it, select a higher ISO

number.

• Test shots are recommended when using special film or

increasing/decreasing data imprint exposure level in imprinting shooting

data between film frames.

12.Command Dial functions (pages 53-57)

Options: 0: Main-Command Dial for shutter speed; Sub-Command Dial for

aperture setting (initial setting)

1: Main-Command Dial for aperture; Sub-Command Dial for

shutter speed setting

Unlike the initial Command Dial functions, the Sub-Command Dial can be set

to select shutter speed (in Shutter-Priority Auto or Manual exposure mode)

and the Main-Command Dial to select aperture (in Aperture-Priority Auto or

Manual exposure mode).

13.Film rewind (pages 29)

Options: 0: High-speed film rewind (initial setting)

1: Quiet film rewind

Film rewind can be set to perform more silently as opposed to initial highspeed

film rewind setting. Film rewind speed of the high-speed film rewind is

approx. 15 sec. and quiet film rewind is approx. 23 sec. per 36-exposure film

roll with fresh batteries.

14.Multiple exposure (page 64)

Options: 0: Single shutter release operation (initial setting)

1: Continuous shutter release operation

At initial setting, the shutter is released once each time the shutter release

button is fully depressed in multiple exposure (single frame shooting).

However, it can be changed to continuous shooting where the shutter can be

continuously released as long as the shutter release button is fully

depressed.

15.Time delay for auto meter-switch-off (page 17)

Options 4 : 4 sec.

6 : 6 sec. (initial setting)

8 : 8 sec.

16 : 16 sec.

At initial setting, the exposure meter automatically turns off 6 sec. after

turning the power switch on or lightly pressing the shutter release button.

However, it can be changed to 4 sec., 8 sec. or 16 sec. (Note that the usable

number of film rolls per batteries decreases with the longer delay time for

auto meter-switch-off since it consumes more power.)

I asked these women working in fields to have a lunch break but they refused to do so till the remaining work was done. Suddenly there appeared 5 musicians who refused to stop till the whole symphony was played. I was amazed to see a full orchestra playing in harmony in my fields. It was MUSIC TO MY EYES, and I was the only listener.
There is music every where only if we could FEEL it.

It was a joy to watch these five women working in perfect harmony as they were separating straw from paddy using the natural wind. I felt as if an orchestra is being played by these women.

Are we really living in a free and democratic India?

Today is 15th August 2010 is 63rd anniversary of India's independence day from British rule

British rule was of course a shame for us, British were very cruel, how can we forget the murder of hundreds of innocent people by Britishers at Jaliyan Wala Bagh.

Today after hosting our tri colour I grabbed the news paper and I was shocked to read the news that yesterday4 farmers were killed in police firing while they were protesting against acquisition of their fertile land for commercial activities and road construction. It becomes more of a concern cos they were protesting peacefully without any arms and ammunition

like Mahatma Gandhi did against British rule.

It all draws me to think - are we really free from British rule?

उल्लिखित लेख में श्रीमान कुंवर ने १५ दिन की छुट्टी मिलाने पर भी इस्तीफा दिया था अब तो छुट्टी के आभाव में न जाने कितने पुलिस व सेना के जवान आत्म हत्या कर ले रहे हैं

कुंवर साहब अंग्रेज पुलिस अफसर का अभद्र व्यहार बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सके, लेकिन अब तो शायद ही कोई पुलिस उच्चाधिकारी बिना गाली के अपने नीचे के कर्मियों से बात करता हो,

पहले पुलिस कर्मी फिर एयर फ़ोर्स में नौकरी फिर लेखपाल फिर रोड वेज में नौकरी मिल गयी, कुंवर साहब वो अंग्रेजों का जमाना था जब बिना घूस नौकरी मिलाती थी अब तो बिना २-३ लाख रुपये घूस चढ़ाये माली और चपरासी की नौकरी भी नहीं मिलाती.

अब तो पूरी तरह साबित हो गया है की भारत आजाद है - घूस की आजादी, पुलिस अपराध की आजादी, थाने में रुपये चढाने की आजादी, राष्ट्र मंडल खेलों में भी लूटने की आज़ादी -

आओ १५ अगस्त मनाते हैं

अँगरेज़ चले गए लेकिन आज

उनका भूत भारत वर्ष पर भरी पड़ता है
